This week I added another free pattern to The Unblock “Lines and Shapes” series. Jelly roll-friendly, it’s a quick sew, with straight line patchwork construction. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a modern baby quilt pattern for a last minute baby shower gift.
Here are some Flower Patch blocks I sewed up using a mix of jelly roll strips by Anna Maria Horner and Tula Pink. I was kind of surprised by how well they worked together.
I also had a lot of fun making mockups for this one, including the scrappier Libs Elliott Atomic version below.
Here it is in Pivot by Rashida Coleman-Hale of Ruby Star Society:
And the original version, using prints from Favorite Flowers, a collaborative collection by Ruby Star Society.
Once again, you’ll get this pattern free when you sign up for The Unblock, a newsletter where I share creative ideas for modern quilters, plus free patterns like this one! Flower Patch is the third one you’ll get (it’s preceded by Pop Blocks, another modern baby quilt pattern, and Strandline, a throw size pattern that plays with high and low volume fabrics).
