Ribbon Letters
The Ribbon Letters alphabet quilt pattern is inspired by vintage ribbons, with each letter designed to appear as though it was created by the bends and folds of a two-toned ribbon ... a great way to play around with dimension using different prints and shades in your fabric.

Fabric requirements
- Letters: 1.5 yards of mixed fabrics
- Background: 3.25 yards
- Backing: 3.5 yards
- Binding 0.5 yards
If you're comfortable with half-square triangles, you can make this quilt. No paper piecing, templates, or tracing required.
Change up the layout, add borders, or use individual blocks from your alphabet quilt pattern to make a banner, personalized stockings, mini quilt, or a bag.
Varsity
The Varsity FPP letters alphabet quilt pattern includes blocks for 26 letters, 10 numbers and some bonus punctuation. Perfect for football fans and grads, use these blocks personalize your next quilted gift.

This pattern assumes some previous experience with foundation paper piecing (FPP), but if this technique is new to you, I’ve made a video to walk you through how to sew the letter A, step-by-step. You can do this!
Varsity Tutorial
Block Sizes
Letter and number blocks are 5 1/2" wide by 6 1/2" high, unfinished. Punctuation blocks are 6 1/2" high to make alignment with other blocks easy, but vary in width.
Fabric Requirements
These blocks are scrap-friendly and the amount of background and foreground fabric required varies depending on the block. In general, for one letter, allow roughly:
• one 7 x 7 piece for the strokes of the letter
• one 8 x 8 piece for the background
