What’s the longest time you’ve collected fabric for a specific quilt? This week I have a special one to share, it was a gift for which I collected pieces of fabric for probably about six years. I started collecting the fabric before I even knew what pattern I would use! A fat quarter here, a half yard there. Mostly Liberty of London quilting cotton, but with some lawns mixed in, and some William Morris type prints from a few different companies.

Liberty of London Sunflower Patch Quilt

Eventually I decided on a Sunflower Patch throw, and finally the day came when I had enough. I added some Liberty Emily Belle Parchment for the background, a William Morris print for the backing, and Liberty Cottage Garden (in Morning Dew) if I’m not mistaken) for the binding.
