Hey everyone, and welcome. I’m really happy to be hosting Quilter in the Closet’s Building Blocks Tuesday this week … please share your blocks (or any other quilt-y projects you’ve got on the go) in the linkup below!

I was so excited about hosting, I wanted to do something special. Presenting … the ice cream block. School’s out, Canada Day and the Fourth of July are just past, so the timing seems right. My small stack of Carolyn Friedlander’s Doe fabric was crying out to be used, and I have to say I’m pretty in love with the way the “Subivided” print works as a background here.

The block is 12.5 inches square, and you can make it with scraps. There are two template pieces involved and the rest are just easily measured blocks. Thanks again to Jen for the opportunity to host this week! Also linking up with: And Sew We Craft, Quilt Story, Fresh Squeezed Fabrics, and the Winthrop Chronicles.
